Year, make, and model missing on CARFAX Report
The year, make and model of a vehicle are coded into the VIN by the manufacturer. If this information is not displaying on the CARFAX Report, it could be for a few different reasons, including:
1) The VIN is invalid. Please verify the VIN is correct with the VIN displaying on the vehicle's dashboard or driver's side door jamb.
2) The vehicle was not originally built for the North American market (also known as a ""gray market"" vehicle) and was imported as a used vehicle.
3) It is a specialty, low-production vehicle which never had its VIN decode information registered with CARFAX.
4) It is a new model year vehicle which has not had its VIN information reported to CARFAX yet.
